Cycling

Cycling to the City Campus is easy thanks to a comprehensive network of Sustrans cycle routes. Sustrans Routes 4 and 8 connect Newport City Centre to Cardiff and Route 88 connects Newport City Centre to Caerleon. Have a look at the Cycle Network routes on Sustrans

Bicycle shelters and stands

There are external secure bike locking facilities located next to the main entrance.

Changing shower facilities

Free showers and coin operated lockers are available near to the main reception.

Reconditioned Bikes

Keeping Cardiff Moving provide a selection of reconditioned bikes at a reduced rate, bike hire and cycle training facilities, just visit the Keeping Cardiff Moving website for more information.

Discounts

We have negotiated discounts with some local bike shop providers.

EC Cycles have a set rate of 10% discount in store if you provide Student ID. However if you are a loyal customer, they offer 15% discount.

DT Bicycles offer student discount with a valid NUS Extra card.

Cycle Training Wales have a great stock of refurbished 2nd hand bikes available, they also offer servicing and repairs.

Walking

Newport Train Station is approximately 20 minutes walk from the City Campus. Newport Bus Station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the City Campus.

The City Campus can be accessed on foot from the Newport City Centre within 5 – 10 minutes. Pedestrian access to the site can be made safely and conveniently via the northbound route along the A4042 Usk Way to the City Centre, and across the river via the footbridge immediately to the north of the City Campus. A pedestrian crossing facility is located immediately to the west of the City Campus site. This provides pedestrians with a safe and convenient means of crossing the A4042 Usk Way.
